Do you menstruate?

If so, do you use disposable sanitary items?

It could be worse. But it could be better. This site is about something that could be nicer for you, and for the environment: a menstrual cup.

Maybe you won't be sure about it. But unless you’re 100% comfortable with the products you use now - and the ways you buy, handle, wear and dispose of them - it might be worth looking into the options, even just for some situations.

I highly suggest you try a Ruby Cup yourself. I will never go back to pads, tampons or any other type of disposable solution. If you are not interested in trying a Ruby Cup yourself perhaps it would make a great gift for a family member. Once the initial purchase is made you save a lot of money in the long run on the other products you no longer buy. And your purchase helps such a good cause!

Produced by MoonCup, this video provides an entertaining summary of the benefits of menstrual cups.

I am going to be one of those crazy testimonials where I say something has changed my life but THIS has! ... I can tell this is going to be a life-saver when I go on my globe trotting travels for 12 months next year.

It could be better

Nicer for you

People who try them often find menstrual cups to be less noticeable, more comfortable, and to have less odour than disposable sanitary products.

Less hassle for you

People who try them often find them easier to use and to be less awkward in many situations. They mean a lot less stuff to carry around (and hide) and get rid of. They save you a lot of money.

Nicer for the environment

Cups vastly reduce the amount of waste ending up in landfills or waterways. They also save on waste from packaging, and the risk of clogging up pipes (especially septic systems) and sewers.

No link to toxic shock syndrome. Suitable for women with allergies and don't contain bleaches - only medical grade silicon. Reduced potential for dryness and irritation.
