Theodora Lee is a "British-born South African YouTube personality, vlogger and actress".
Which I didn't really know before. Actually in hindsight I realise she's the one that makes heaps of entertaining and informative youtube videos about different menstrual cup products.
The more important thing at this point is she recently called on her 200,000 subscribers to support a drive to distribute over 2,000 menstrual cups to school girls who cannot afford disposable sanitary items.
The donation campaign, with the Intima brand (makers of LilyCup), is inspired by a figure that over three million South African girls miss school every month because they cannot afford disposable sanitary products. While menstrual cups are a choice many women and girls make, not everyone has the financial means to make their own choices. This kind of campaign goes some way to expanding the options available.
The campaign met its target for supporters within 48 hours. It was since upped to a target of 4,000 cups, which has also been met (but you could/should still consider supporting it).
