Modibodi, Thinx – and other Period Underwear options

This isn’t a menstrual cup (the focus of the ‘it could be better’ site) but there’s a lot of enthusiasm growing for ‘period underwear’. Period underwear offers many of the same advantages as menstrual cups – convenience, sustainability, price. You might prefer them to cups, in that they don’t have any learning curve and, even though you often forget you're wearing them, with cups you do still have to 'do' something occasionally. Period underwear is very low on the effort scale. They're also pretty high-tech. Or they might be right for some situations and the cup for others. Or you can use both - a cup and the pants as backup if you're worried about that sort of thing. Worth exploring the options anyway! Based on some of the comments on the 'Modibodi' site, they’re probably a great option starting out for teenage girls too. The famous brand is Thinx but here’s a local Australian brand, Modibodi. Described as:

Stylish protective underwear reinvented. Made from natural and synthetic fibres including Merio and Bamboo, not only does Modibodi protect you from embarrassing leaks, odours and period overflow, they are unbelievably comfortable and stylish. What more could you want in underwear?
